Below Andrew writes about his musical influences

My main interest is folk/roots music - I suppose I'm a bit of a closet country music lover - though I not really into the traditional "someones done someones doggie wrong songs". I don't really aspire to sound like anyone in particular (maybe that's my problem.) When I was growing up my Dad used to play lots of Johnny Cash, Marty Robins, Jim Reeves and Slim Dusty records - which probably shaped my musical self.

As a teen I was into John Denver  and later I discovered Simon and Garfunkel, the Beatles and Peter Paul and Mary - I was a bit of a child of the 60's but that was in the late 70's early 80's. Other people I discovered and are currently on my listening list are Alison Krause and Union Station, Doc Watson, Eric Bibb (Brilliant guitarist), Lior, Jack Johnson and David Crosby et al. During the 80 I also studied classical guitar - which has influenced the way I play the guitar - I'm more of a picker than a strummer and I'm pretty useless on the electric - but I try. There are also a number of great Australian country singer songwriter my favourites are Colin Buchanan and Peter Denahy - ah to be able to write songs like these guys.

I've also a Christian and have known and loved the Lord Jesus for as long as I can remember. I have been involved with contemporary church music since the late 70's my early influences were Fisherfolk and the St Louis Jesuits - however lately I've been more into Hillsong (isn't most of christendom). There are a number of excellent songwriters out of the UK - my favourites Matt Redman, Stuart Townend, Chris Tomlin and a guy from the USA called Paul Baloche. While I'm basically a musician with folk roots I use a a fair bit of music technology and this alos influences my music.
